Down, Set, Hike! Are you ready for some college football?! Ah yes!! The good old pigskin, grunting, and butt-slapping season is upon us. It’s no secret that Andrew and I are HUGE college football fans. From September to January, our Saturdays are often spent grill-gating and watching college football!

When we first moved to Houston, Andrew and I immediately made friends with another couple who shared the same love for college football. Although we have major difference in our college team allegiances, we can set our differences aside and agree on a great tailgate spread! There something that’s just more fun about watching games with friends and fun food! So, putting together a fun football party spread is always a great time.

For this year’s grill-gating essentials, I headed to my local Walmart! I picked up Kingsford® Charcoal, Dr Pepper® , RITZ crackers, Hidden Valley® Ranch, and Glad® Press’n Seal!  Kingsford Charcoal and Dr Pepper is the easiest way to score a touchdown with all my friends while we are grillgating.

Since it’s the beginning of the season, I decided to kick it off with my favorite Buffalo Grilled Wings! I paired my awesome buffalo grilled wings with Hidden Valley Ranch and it was a winning combination!

Grilled Buffalo Wings

• 1lb of Chicken Wings
• 1 cup of all-purpose flour
• 1 cup of buffalo sauce
• Kingsford Charcoal for grill
• Hidden Valley Ranch

Prep time: 15 minutes, Total steep time: 1 hour

  1. Pour your flour and buffalo sauce into separate bowls.

  2. Rinse your chicken wings, dip into buffalo sauce and then roll it in flour.

  3. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat.

  4. Cook the wings on the preheated grill, turning occasionally, until the chicken is well browned and no longer pink, 25 to 30 minutes.

  5. Serve the grilled wings with ranch.

I also made my delicious spinach-artichoke dip and paired it with RITZ crackers. It was another touchdown while we were grill-gating! Everyone loves RITZ crackers. Also, my go to beverage for any game day festivities has to be Dr Pepper! Grill-gating is all about having fun and grilling some awesome dishes!

Andrew loves to grill so he is always excited to learn grilling tips and recipes. Check out this site with a great video of Emmitt Smith sharing his grilling recipes and tips! He also challenges you to share your grilling photos and experiences too. Your photo could even end up on the Grill-gating website - just make sure to use #GrillGatingHero on Twitter and Instagram!

Grilling on-the-go is always easier with Glad Press’n Seal! Whether you’re trying to protect your food against flies or even if you are carrying items home from the tailgate, Glad Press’n Seal always makes it happen! It’s definitely an essential to have at any grill-gating event!
