Tinys Milk & Cookies + Discovery Green

I’m sure you guys understand by now… after my constant complaining all summer about this Texas heat but ya’ll it’s just so dang HOT! Andrew and I are literally so excited for fall and the cooler weather but until then we are trying to make the best of our summer!

Saturday we decided to stop working on remodeling our bathroom (blog post coming soon!) and head downtown for a fun evening. I have an ongoing Houston bucket list so I picked the next place off of it… Tinys Milk and Cookies! Milk & Cookies is a walk up bakery, coffee and ice cream shop in the heart of West Houston! We decided to try the chocolate chip cookie (of course), the sugar cookie, and ice coffee. Although the sugar cookie was good, the chocolate chip cookie was HEAVENLY. Oh boy, I cannot wait to go back! Mmm, so good.

After we got our sweet treat, we headed to Discovery Green, a public park downtown. The park has a few fun events going on this month. We decided to check out the Discovery Green Flea event. It’s basically a really awesome event that host a Night Flea Market, live music, and epic food trucks!

Andrew and I were so excited to see the market and the different vintage items! The live music was also really good so the vibe was perfect! We walked around and browsed through the shops while enjoying the cool breeze.

It’s kind crazy to me that at 9 o’clock at night, it’s still 93 degrees outside but that’s Houston for ya! We parked in the parking garage while at the park so we snapped some night photos of the skyline. Pretty Huh? It was a fun night downtown with my love bug!

On Sunday, I met up with my favorite Houston babe, Lauren (aka photographer at The McRaes Photography,)and we walked around Discovery green to check out the new art installation.

Arcade by Color Condition provides both colorful beauty and some very welcomed shade to the park! The art is made from stripes of tablecloths, shower curtains, and painters drop cloths. How freaking awesome! It’s definitely worth checking out!

What are you up to in Houston?!
