As a college student, I know how stressful it can be for students heading off to college! One way to help keep that stress level down and in control is to be prepared. Having been a college student for such a long time now (undergraduate and graduate), I know the essentials supplies every college student needs to stay organized and in style. Our supplies should help us be productive, focused, and excited about school! Since college starts soon, I wanted to share 5 essentials you need this year to stay organized and in style to kick off the school-year!
1. Cell Phone
As I finished my last semester in May, I officially needed to be more organized. I had missed so many due dates because I lost my planner… I would create checklist but lose them before I could ever start them. I was literally a hot mess. The key to succeeding in college is organization. So this year, I headed to Target to finally purchase a cell phone that could do what I can’t- to help me stay more organized and productive all while staying in style this school year.
Target has such great customer service! As soon as we entered the electronics department, someone came over to help me. I saw the display for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and I instantly ran over to learn more about the phone! Not only does the GS8 have a large display screen but also a powerful processor and excellent front facing “selfie camera”!
As a college student, I’m constantly on-the-go so having my phone charged is important. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has fast wireless charging to let you charge up without having to plug in! The charger is sold separately. However, the storage capability is one of my favorite features of the phone. You can expand the storage up to 256 GB with a micro SD card! The mirco SD card is sold separately but you never have to worry about running out of room for the things that matter most to you! It’s the perfect mix of style and simplicity.
I’m so thrilled to go back to school this season with my GS8! I feel reassured that I have the best phone to help me stay organized and productive this school year. It also gives me a peace of mind knowing the GS8 has five security features to help protect and keep my personal information safe. Plus, I know I’ll be more successful this school year using all the features on the phone to do the things I can’t!
2. Water Bottle
It doesn’t matter if you’re an athlete or not, every college student needs a water bottle. In college, you do a lot of walking between classes, buildings, and the parking lot. It’s important to keep hydrated throughout the day. There will be multiple places on campus that allow you to fill up your water bottle too. Whether you’re a gym fanatic or just constantly on the go, carrying a water bottle at college is an essential purchase.
About 80% of students walk around campus around with headphones in their ears or when they’re studying. Many studies show that studying can be improved while listening to certain kinds of music. I love to listen to music while walking to my classes to help me get focused. Sometimes teachers might assign homework to listen to a podcast or a video so if you want to keep the peace with your roommate or those around you, you’ll need to use your headphones!
4. Book Bag
A good book bag is essential for college. You can’t carry everything around campus without a book bag. The bag you carry to class every day is an important consideration. You’re more lily to be covering a lot of distance with a lot of books in college. Nowadays you can get just about any design or size book bag to help you stay organized and in style at school! The right book bag will keep you safe and organized all through the school-year!
You might not think you need them, but you do. I’m not athletic, but the amount of time I wear my sneakers is insane. Whether you're a gym-goer or not (and whether you're into the sporty look or not), running shoes are almost certainly going to save your life at some point. Key examples: Literally running late for class after sleeping in, deciding to join a fun intramural league, activity days, exploring the area/hiking, and pretty much any outdoor activity that doesn't take place at the beach. A good pair of sneakers is essential in college!
What is on your back-to-school list this year?!
