It’s that time of year again… people are talking about vacation and road trips! It’s obvious that I love to travel but sometimes the prep work involved can make my head spin. Since we have a summer full of travel and with our first road trip coming up this weekend, I wanted to share 5 things to do before your next road trip!
1. Car Maintenance
As we wrapped up our last road trip, we officially become road trip warriors with over 75,000 miles on our car. The key to a great road trip is having a safe and dependable vehicle. So when it’s time to get ready for our road trip, we head over to our local Walmart Automotive Care Center to ensure our car is running best for all our summer travel adventures!
In addition to a wide variety of services, the Walmart Automotive Care Center also offers oil changes and lube services using high-quality Pennzoil® products, which help clean out sludge that lesser oils leave behind. It also helps reduce leaks and oil consumption in worn or higher-mileage engines like ours. The Walmart Automotive Care Center manager, suggested that I switch to Pennzoil® High Mileage Vehicle® motor oil since my car has seen more than its fair share of road trips. This oil is especially designed for new or late model vehicles with over 75,000 miles to keep engines running strong!
I was also excited to learn that the Pennzoil High Mileage Vehicle motor oil is on Rollback! It’s regularly $39.88 now on Rollback to $35.88 from now until September 28. You know what the means… more money saved for our road trip!
When I take my car to the Walmart Automotive Car Center, I feel reassured about my road trip. It gives me a peace of mind knowing professional and experts have serviced my car with high quality lube products from Pennzoil. Plus, I know I’ll be saving time and money!
2. Get Cash
You might have to pay for tolls or even parking! I have found some restaurants that only take cash... you just never know when you might need cash. That’s why it is always a good idea to have some cash with you while you are traveling on your road trip!
3. Take Care of House Duties
Always turn down your thermostat if you are going to be gone a few days to save money on your electric bill. Don’t forget to water your plants and take out your stinky trash! You should also make sure that everything that needs to be off is completely turned off before you leave!
Just double check to make sure you have the tickets you need or any type of receipts. It is also a good idea to call your hotel or wherever you are staying just to verify that you have the dates correct. I just love to double check things before I leave to travel ever since that one time I had my hotel dates wrong… lesson learned.
Make sure you have your entire luggage ready to go! If you are in school, don’t forget your textbooks or laptop! It is also a good idea to pack snacks, create a new play list, and to bring something to keep you busy throughout your trip. I like to create a list of things that I absolutely want to have with me on my road trip like my camera, GPS, journal, etc. While we dropped our car off for servicing, we decided to shop inside Walmart for everything on our supplies list! This gave us the chance to grab a few road-worthy essentials and brainstorm ideas for our trip.
Road trips are supposed to fun and exciting and thanks to the service at Walmart Automotive Care Center, you can be road trip ready with a tuned-up car and all the supplies you need!
