Fall Garden Dress

Since I moved to Houston, I haven’t really experienced any fall weather. Fall is my absolute favorite season and yet I don’t even get to really dress for it! I know I’m not the only girl in Texas complaining about my limited fall wardrobe so today I want to share how I dress for fall when it’s still hot outside!

I’ll admit it, this North Carolina girl is still trying to get used to living in Texas during the colder months. My sweaters and boots are so ready to be worn, but I found the perfect fall dress the other day! One of my secrets on how to dress for fall when it’s hot out is to wear dark colors but short dresses! Dresses are great transitional pieces for those of us who live in warmer temps. You can wear them with tights or even add a jacket if it gets cooler outside!

I’ve been buying tons of dresses with darker colors like this one from Free People. I love the floral pattern and how easy it to layer with a light jacket. I love the open back and the ruffle sleeves! Although this 90 degrees weather doesn’t let me wear any boots yet, I can’t wait to pair this dress with some over-the-knee boots later this fall!
