Weekend Recap: Taste of New Orleans Festival!

Frankie was jumping around at 6 am Saturday morning... ready to go potty, eat breakfast and play! Needless to say, my Saturday morning began at 6 am with this little fur baby.  I made a latte while Frankie ate his breakfast to recover from this early Saturday morning.

We hung out with Frankie all morning and were super lazy... Until lunch time! We headed downtown to go to the Taste of New Orleans Festival. It wasn't nearly as big as I thought it would be but the fundamentals were there.. beer, food and music.

As we entered the festival, we received Mardi Gras beads! I also bought a really cool painting. We only stayed about two hours and then decided to walk around downtown before heading back home.

Houston is such a large city... Andrew and I both work in Houston yet we are 45 mins away from each other at work. They city is always growing which is almost impossible to imagine. We didn't walk around too long because we could sense the rain coming... literally as soon as we got home and let Frankie out to potty, it started to DOWN POUR! Phew, we really lucked out!

Sunday, Andrew and I were super busy. We had to run a ton of errands because we are trying to organize and de-clutter our home! Mmm I love an ice cold diet coke!

After a super productive morning and early afternoon, I decided to go layout by the pool to read some gossip magazines and go over the passages I highlighted in my new favorite book! I am learning that it is okay to throw away memories-- things I don't need.

For dinner on Sunday, we used a skillet to cook a huge steak to share! I also made squash and green beans to along with our steaks. It was a great Sunday and I felt like we got some much accomplished. I am so excited for next weekend in San Antonio!
