Hi guys! I know… I have been missing in action this week. I went home for the holidays and I just want to soak up every minute of it! I can’t wait to fill you in on what I have been up to here in Virginia. Did I mention I drove here from Texas?! Crazy, I know.
Anyways, today I wanted to share with you this amazing Reese’s pieces cookie recipe!
Aaron, my youngest nephew, decided to help me bake cookies this afternoon. While at the grocery store, he chose the Reese’s pieces in the baking isle to use instead of chocolate chips. He was so excited!
My mom has a KitchenAid mixer… Oh. My. Gosh. I’m in love with it! It made baking so easy and the cleanup even easier! I will definitely have to invest in one of these when we get into a bigger home! Anyways, Aaron and I gathered all the ingredients and got busy!
I asked, “Aaron, what is the first thing you do when you cook?!” He replied, “Wash your hands!!”. He threw all the ingredients into the mixing bowl.
It was my first time using this fancy mixer and I didn’t realized how slow you need to poor flour… so I accidentally covered Aaron in flour, LOL! Clearly, he was a good sport about it!
Aaron is such a sweet little boy. I love being able to watch him grow too. He is so appreciative and respectful… he is turning into such a sweet young man.
He kept calling himself, “Chef Bear!” Ever since Aaron was a baby, we called him, “bear”.
Nicknames are a huge part of our family but his really suits him well! He truly is a big cuddly bear.
After the mixing was complete, Bear started to scoop his cookie dough onto the cookie sheet!
We baked the cookies for 10 mins just like the instructions said too! They little turned out perfect and yummy too!
This is just a quick glimpse of my afternoon with my sweet nephew. You can find the recipe here! Just substitute the walnuts and the chocolate chips with the Reese's pieces cooking chips found in the baking isle at the grocery store!
I'm sure these cookies wont last long here... my entire family is spending Christmas at my parents house this year!
